When I hear the word “cookies”, I think, in general, of warm, gooey homemade chocolate chip cookies. But when it comes to passing the Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ) test is coming, I had my cravings for Mrs. Fields’ place to nibble away and about the differences between first-party and third-party cookies.
cookies are just one of many topics covered in the exam, and death can be a daunting task, especially for those who are not with the program and its ever-changing functions. The GAIQ test is one of the best ways to make an informed user and deepen your understanding of Google Analytics. For those new to GA and looking for additional tips and tricks, check out our Google Analytics Guide . Studying for the exam can be a fun process and I would like to offer some advice so that you can also happen.
The GAIQ test
The test is limited to 90 minutes, consisting of 70 multiple choice questions with two to five possible answers. The hardest part is that some questions that you mean to “all that apply”, which can store up to 24 possible combinations of answers for these questions to be (assuming you have to choose one answer) to choose to ask. The test is available on the Google Testing Center will be accessed , and everyone is sitting costs $ 50. During the test, you have the ability to pause and come back at any time within the next five days. Although the questions vary in difficulty, it is an open book exam. The pass mark is 80%, which means you must answer correctly at least 56 of 70 questions.
prepare for the exam
All Topics and content of the test are treated by Google Analytics IQ lessons available, formerly known as Conversion University , the online lessons that are freely available for viewing at your leisure from known. There are over a 21 different presentations that are easily digestible and are a total of around 2 hours and 15 minutes. However, these presentations move pretty fast, so I recommend sitting out and taking notes, you can use during the test. A partial list of topics is listed below:
Campaign Tracking and AdWords Integration
Motion Charts page views
Internal Site Search
Event Tracking and Virtual
GAIQ lessons are the best way to study for the test and should be your starting point. I recommend watching every video at least twice, and practicing with your own Google Analytics profile in tandem with the videos, and walk through each lesson to help you understand the issues. It is important to note that there are many changes to Google Analytics last year, and Google has updated its review in January 2012 . The basic material in the test is treated the same, but if you’re still using the old version of Analytics, you might want to get used to the new version and all its new features prior to testing.
I would not be surprised if Google started, questions about the features that are only in the new version (Multi-Channel hopper, real-time analytics, social analytics plugin, and flow visualization) . Also, there is always a chance that Google has made an update, but it has not changed the test or question GAIQ lesson videos. For example, the “__utmc” cookie no longer on the Google Analytics tracking code into session state uses to determine, but it is still mentioned in the course GAIQ and could still be around in the test as one of the cookies that Google is required. If you have any doubts, I would like these questions based on whatever has been learned in the lessons GAIQ answer. It’s more likely that Google would not change the test without first updating the video.
If you are considering
For a “pass-the-test” strategy is the most important thing to remember is to keep moving. Answer all the questions first and not easily broken down to be handcuffed to a question. You have to answer in about 1 minute and 16 seconds to every question, so if you have all those easy to answer first, you can judge how much time you have left to finish the remaining, harder questions. You have the ability to mark questions to answer them, or leave it incomplete. A good strategy is to answer just those that highlight the issues that require some research and let the questions that you have absolutely no clue empty. In this way, during your second pass, you can check all the marked questions first and make the most difficult questions last. I feel safe in assuming that all questions are equally weighted in the score, and that there is no penalty for guessing wrong.
During the test, I recommend the following resources open on your computer: Google Analytics IQ lessons , a Analytics account , the Google Help Center and . There will be some questions to ask the research, these resources stop near .
I have some problems with
The original practice solutions that will help make you ready for the test taken. These issues will challenge you, but not necessarily, like Google, you will be tested on these issues. These problems should take a final exam after I have all the GAIQ lessons. They can be downloaded at the link below
Passing the exam
If you pass, Google sends you an email with an official certificate showing that you passed the exam. This certificate is valid for 18 months from the date of passing the exam. Google does not give you the results for each question, but it shows the percentage of questions you answered correctly, and the four most miss, topics for your exam.edit “Google Analytics Qualified Individual-Abzeichen” />
can sometimes be the difference between passing and failing a question how to interpret some of Google’s questions. They can be quite tricky, so be sure to pay attention to detail to every question. If you fail, you can take the test again, but you must wait 14 days and may only twice within a period of 30 days. You must pay the $ 50 fee for each session so you do give it best the first time.
If you have taken the exam, we would love to hear your thoughts and advice. Or if you have any questions, please leave a comment!
Best of luck!
